Juvenile Justice

As one of my first assignments at the State of Illinois Government, I was entrusted with the critical task of redesigning the significant printed posters that previously graced the walls of the IDJJ group therapy rooms. My mission was to develop a contemporary and captivating approach that would resonate with a younger audience.

To accomplish this goal, I conducted a comprehensive analysis of the demographics and atmosphere of the facility. I crafted the posters from scratch after meticulously researching the typical profiles of children who are usually in IDJJ facilities.

While acknowledging the good intentions of IDJJ, it is crucial to understand that being in such a facility can be overwhelming and intimidating for the children. Therefore, I aimed to design posters that would not only appeal to their sensibilities and interests but also create a serene and welcoming environment that would enhance their overall well-being.

My ultimate aspiration was to evoke an artistic and meaningful representation that would serve as a beacon of hope and inspiration for these young individuals, a symbol of encouragement and motivation to keep striving for their betterment.
